Halfway Lake Cottages offers a bit of Heaven in the secluded woodland setting of Michigan's Upper Peninsula; eight cabins surrounded by 200 acres of hardwood and pine forest encompassing a 65-acre privately owned lake.

We provide the perfect place for a family-oriented vacation or a weekend getaway for all four seasons of the year. We are located on a county road leading to local ATV and snowmobile trails. In addition, a restaurant and gas station are less than 2 miles away.

We are centrally located to Lake Superior, Whitefish Point Lighthouse, Tahquamenon Falls, Pictured Rocks, Grand Marais, Oswald's Bear Ranch, Crisp Point Lighthouse, and the mouth of the Two Hearted River with its notable suspension bridge. Most of which you can reach via snowmobile or ATV.

If you are looking for fishing, canoeing, hunting, swimming, off-roading, boating, hiking, bird watching, agate collecting, snowmobiling, or cross-country skiing, you will find beautiful surroundings and clean lakeside cottages at Halfway Lake Resort.

Fishing

Rowboats, canoes, and kayaks are available with cottage rentals so you can enjoy the beauty of Halfway Lake while fishing for Northern Pike and Perch without the requirement of a license. Catch and release all that you want, keep what you can eat that day, and leave the rest to enjoy for future visits.

We are 10 miles from the Tahquamenon and the Two Hearted Rivers, while the famous Fox River is in nearby Seney. All three rivers are accredited as "blue-ribbon" trout streams. Nearby to Halfway Resort are many inland lakes, rivers, and streams flourishing with walleye, northern pike, perch, bass, and rainbow and brook trout.

Snowmobiling

We are in the "Lake Effect Snow" belt of Michigan's eastern Upper Peninsula supplying some of the deepest snow and the best groomed trails available. Why trailer to a trailhead when you can snowmobile from your door? Sled rentals are available nearby; gas and food are within two miles.

Off Roading

Halfway Lake Resort provides a direct ride from your door and access to several hundred miles of trails known as some of the best ATV and ORV trails in the State of Michigan.

Hunting

Rifle and bow hunting are two favorite and popular sports of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Thousands of acres of public State of Michigan land are available to hunt bird, bear, trophy deer, and much more.

Birding

Halfway Lake boasts a pair of nesting loons, kingfisher, and many other birds that call the lake their home. Bald Eagles, Sand Hill Cranes, and Osprey frequent our beautiful lake. Imagine sipping a cup of coffee on your porch, listening to the sounds of nature, and spotting an Osprey catch its breakfast of fish as the sun rises over the lake.

Agate Hunting

We are 15 minutes from the shores of Lake Superior, the middle of the banded "agate territory", the beach between Whitefish Point and Grand Marais. Agate hunting is known to be at its prime in the spring after the ice floes have brought a new supply to the shore.
