The Chicaugon Lake Inn has a large lighted parking lot with plenty of room for boat and snowmobile trailers, and we are right on the snowmobile trail so you can ride from your door. Outdoor seating area with a charcoal grill at each end of the motel for cooking up a fish dinner, grilling some hotdogs and burgers, or just sitting in the clear air and enjoying the view. Try one of our adult wooden swings for relaxing and watching for wildlife. You just might see a deer or two come out to graze or an eagle soar overhead.
The Chicaugon Lake Inn is located right next door to Chicaugon Lake where you will find excellent fishing and a boat launch right by the Inn. There is a nice swimming beach just 1 mile east of the Inn at Pentoga Park with picnic tables, playground, volley ball, concession stand, and a lifeguard on duty during the summer. Chicaugon Lake is a large lake of 1,100 acres of clear, deep water offering boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, tubing and great fishing year round for Walleyes, Musky, Lake Trout, Bass, plus a variety of panfish. Bring your boat and get ready for some great fun on the water or we have 12' and 14' fishing rowboats available for rent to use on Chicaugon Lake so bring your motor and have fun. There is also great fishing in Indian Lake and the Brule River near the Inn. The western end of the Brule River from M-73 to M-189 is a Blue Ribbon Trout Stream. Lots of nearby waters for some exciting fishing or canoeing.
The George Young 18 hole Championship Golf Course and Year Round Recreation Center is right behind the Chicaugon Inn offering golf, hiking and mountain biking trails, The Wolf Track Nature Trail is a 1 1/2 mile loop and makes an enjoyable morning or evening walk. WINTER FUN
Brule Mountain Ski and Recreation area is only 10 miles from the Chicaugon Lake Inn and has summer rentals of mountain bikes, rafts, tubes and canoes for some fun on the Brule River.
For snowmobilers, winter brings lots of snow and the Chicaugon Lake Inn is right on the groomed snowmobile trail, so you can ride from the door. Iron County has over 250 miles of groomed trails that connect to the trail system that runs throughout the entire Upper Peninsula, so you can plan several day trips of 100 miles or more in various directions. Surrounded by the Ottawa National Forest and the Copper Country State Forest, there are wonderful rides awaiting you.
Brule Ski Resort opens early for downhill skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and cross country skiing on groomed trails.

Cross-country skiers will also enjoy the 6 km of groomed trails at George Young Recreational Complex with rental equipment available, the Northern and Southern Ski Trails just south of the Inn, or the Ge-Che groomed trails in the Ottawa National Forest. |
Chicaugon Lake and Indian Lake offer great ice fishing or try snowshoeing through the woods for some fun in the snow.
You might like to visit the area museums, take a ride in the Ottawa National Forest, canoe or kayak some of the lakes and rivers, hike to Horserace Rapids south of Crystal Falls, or visit the shops in Iron River and Crystal Falls.
Iron River and Crystal Falls have fun festivals, arts & crafts shows, the Rodeo, the Iron County Fair and many other interesting events going on throughout the year.
Restaurants are just a short drive to Iron River and Crystal Falls and there is a nice supper club on US-2 near the Brule River Bridge.
