Counties listed with main towns, some towns have reporting websites so they are also listed. Big Bay 25 miles north of Marquette Chassell, 9 miles south of Houghton. Chassell -Baraga Trail will be open for winter of 2009-2010. Chassell Painesdale trail is still closed but inquire at the Greenlight for a back route. Chippewa County: Sault Ste Marie, MI and surrounding area in the Eastern U.P. Crystal Falls (Iron County) in the south central Upper Peninsula Curtis, the Manistique Lakes Area in Mackinac County Drummond Island Area including DeTour Village Grand Marais Linking East to West with over 125 miles of groomed trails in the central UP and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore!. Houghton County, including Hancock, Houghton, Chassell, Twin Lakes. As of 11/22/08 the Houghton-Chassell Trail is open. Iron Mountain Area including Dickinson County Iron River - Iron County Ishpeming, west of Marquette and snowmobile friendly Lake Gogebic Report from Bergland MI includes Ironwood, Bessimer, & Wakefield Les Cheneaux including Cedarville and Hessel in the Eastern Upper Peninsula Manistique, Schoolcraft County in the central Upper Peninsula by Lake Michigan Marquette County, including Ishpeming, Marquette, Negaunee, Big Bay, Champion. New trail open through Negaunee business district for food, shopping, and lodging.Marquette-Alger County Trail is now open from AuTrain to Harvey but please stay on the trail and observe the posted speed limits. Michigamme, between Marquette and Baraga on US-41 & M-28 Munising, AuTrain, & Christmas & the Hiawatha National Forest in Alger County Newberry in Luce County. Ride the Lake Superior State Forest Ontonagon County, including Ontonagon, Porcupine Mountains, White Pine, Bruce Crossing Paradise. Town Trail is now open but please stay on the trail and observe the 15 mph speed limit.
