Otter Lake Campground is located on the shores of Otter Lake in the Hiawatha National Forest near Munising, Lake Superior, and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Otter Lake Campground is located just off Buckhorn Road, southwest of Munising. Pets Welcome ORV friendly Otter Lake Campground offers 56 scenic sites with electric hook-ups, picnic tables, and a fire pit. Some sites are located in a sunny area while others are in a wooded area so you have a nice selection of campsites for your camping trip.
All campsites have easy access to the lakeshore on Otter Lake where there is a sandy area with a small beach for wading and a playground for the kids. Otter Lake is a non-motorized lake but rowboats, canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats are available for rent or you can bring your canoe or kayak for fun on the water.
Otter Lake is a family oriented campground and offers volleyball, corn-hole toss, tether ball, and basketball. See the Campground Host and she will supply you with the balls for some fun. Otter Lake Campground offers modern restrooms with a new shower house providing campers with hot showers, a guest coin laundry, water and dump station, and a small camp store for pop, ice, firewood, kindling, "T" Shirts, and candy.
Otter Lake Campground has direct access to the ORV trails for some great riding in the Hiawatha National Forest. Bring your mountain bike for some fun riding on the back roads of the Hiawatha National Forest.
Enjoy fishing in Otter Lake for panfish, northern pike, and bass or try your luck in some of the nearby lakes in the Hiawatha Forest. For a real adventure, go charter fishing on Lake Superior. The Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Grand Island, Lake Superior cruises, and numerous waterfalls are only about 20 minutes away and you will find restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping in Munising. There is a casino in Christmas.
