Sand Point Charters is located in the beautiful Keweenaw Peninsula and offers Charter Fishing, Lighthouse Cruises, and Scenic Tours on Lake Superior. We leave from Lac La Belle, just 40 miles north of Houghton & Hancock in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Bring the family and enjoy a fun day or half day on the water.

Charter Fishing
Sand Point Charters offers fishing trips on Lake Superior and Lac La Belle where you might catch a variety of fish including Lake Trout (a specialty of the cold waters of Lake Superior), Coho Salmon, Steelhead, and King Salmon. We offer half day and full day fishing trips, or a day long trip to Stannard Rock, 35 miles offshore where the large Lake Trout are lurking. Our boats, the 30’ “Fishin’ Mission” will accommodate 6 people while our Harbercraft “Helm-N Buoys&rdq uo; will hold 4 people. The boats are DNR inspected and approved, equipped with the essential fishing equipment & safety gear, and a private bathroom. Anglers will need a Michigan Fishing license.

Lighthouse Cruise Our Lighthouse cruise offers a view of the offshore lighthouses that can only be seen from the water. Our Lighthouse Cruise takes you past the Mendota Lighthouse, the Gull Rock Lighthouse, and the Manitou Island Light, located off the tip o f the Keweenaw. Cruises can also be arranged to see the Huron Island Lighthouse, Granite Island Lighthouse, or the lighthouse at Stannard Rock, Michigan’s most isolated lighthouse. A wonderful opportunity for some fantastic photographs.

Scenic Cruise
Sand Point Charters offers a scenic cruise on Lake Superior. Sit back and relax while you enjoy the beautiful scenery along the shoreline of the rugged Keweenaw Peninsula. . . a delightful way to spend a few hours on the water.

Your Captain
Brian has his Captains license from the US Coast Guard and has navigated and fished Lake Superior for the past 30 years. He knows the waters and will take you on an exciting fishing trip or a unique sightseeing tour.

Our Boats
The 30’ “Fishin’ Mission” and the Harbercraft “Helm-N Buoys” are DNR inspected and US Coast Guard approved. The electronics on the twin engine “Fishin’ Mission” include radar, marine and weath er radio, fish finder, temperature and speed probe for more precise fishing, GPS with marine maps for accurate navigation, auto pilot, fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detector system, and other USCG approved safety gear.

If our basic trips aren’t quite what you had in mind, we will be happy to set up a custom trip for you.

Charter trips start in the spring when the ice is gone and last into late fall. All our trips depend on the weather and are decided by the Captain.
