Nicolet National Forest in northeastern Wisconsin is just 20 miles from Iron Mountain MI. Four seasons of recreation may be enjoyed in the Nicolet - hiking, camping, biking, fishing, swimming, canoeing, bird watching, horseback riding, berry picking, hunting, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. The Nicolet contains Whisker Lake Wilderness, over 7,500 acres of remote dedicated wilderness with walk in camping, fishing and canoeing. The Nicolet is not heavily used and offers a real opportunity to "get away from it all".

Ojibwa Campground and Marina is located on the shoreline of Keweenaw Bay by Highway US-41 on the north side of Baraga. The campground offers wooded and lakefront sites with electricity, water, a picnic table, and fire pit. There are restrooms with showers, RV dump station, a playground, and a pavilion for events. Sandy swimming beach. The Marina offers rental slips and a boat launch for great fishing or boat ing on Keweenaw Bay of Lake Superior. The 39' lighthouse tower is open for climbing and offers a wonderful view of the area. The first lighthouse was built in 1851-52 and replaced by this cream brick building in 1866. Replaced in 1963 by the West Pier Light.
