the shores of Lake Superior. Only one mile further east, you'll find the charming village of
Christmas, where you must visit the Duck Pond Eatery and Beer Garden. Here, you can enjoy locally
caught fresh whitefish, burgers, tacos, poutine, and a selection of over 30 Upper Peninsula and
Michigan craft beers, making it a truly unique spot. Be sure to check out their impressive
waterfowl decoy collection and the flags displayed from around the country and the world. You can
also experience the Grand Island Lunch and Dinner Cruises for a scenic and memorable dining
experience.
This charming, fully-equipped cottage comfortably accommodates up to seven guests, offering both
cozy sleeping arrangements and spaces for relaxation. The modern kitchen is stocked with
everything needed for preparing family meals, should you choose to cook during your stay. Not in
the mood to cook? No worries! But if you do, the kitchen includes a refrigerator, electric stove,
microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and blender. You’ll also find all the essentials:
flatware, serving dishes, cookware, coffee mugs, wine glasses, and cleaning supplies. To make
your stay even more convenient, complimentary condiments and a selection of spices are provided
for your use.
If outdoor grilling is your thing, a Weber propane grill is available on the patio, perfect for
enjoying a meal in the fresh air.
The rustic living room features a cozy wood-burning fireplace with complimentary firewood, a
stylish conversational sofa, two matching barrel chairs, and a coffee table. For entertainment,
a 45” wall-mounted Smart TV is provided, and a comfortable reading chair offers a quiet spot to relax.
The sleeping arrangements consist of two bedrooms with queen-sized beds, a sleeper sofa in the
living room that accommodates two additional guests, and an optional roll-away twin bed if
needed. The centrally located bathroom is equipped with both a shower and a tub."
The screened-in front porch, which also serves as a sunroom, is an ideal place to relax in our
comfortable wicker patio chairs with a glass of wine before dinner. It’s perfect for reflecting
on the day's adventures or planning for tomorrow. Additionally, the main dining table is
conveniently situated on the porch, offering a serene setting for enjoying meals.
Outside on the private patio, you'll find a grill, a solo smokeless firepit for ambiance or
roasting hot dogs and s'mores, Adirondack chairs, and a picnic table for outdoor dining.
Guests can enjoy a continental breakfast at the “Nook,” located just behind the cottage.
Each day, a selection of coffee, teas, breakfast cereals, juices, pastries, breakfast s
andwiches, and omelets is available. The Nook is open from 7-10 AM.

The grounds feature a corn-hole game set, a volleyball net, and a tetherball for your enjoyment.

Continue east for 2 miles, and you'll find the Paddling Michigan office as the first business on
The right as you enter Munising. They offer kayaking adventures at the Pictured Rocks, which are
highly recommended for anyone seeking a gentle adventure. With seven different day trips available
for paddlers of all ages and skill levels, it's considered one of the most beautiful water tours
in the Midwest. Experiencing it up-close in a kayak is truly the best way to see it.
In Munising, you can also enjoy the Rip-Tide Ride, Glass Bottom Shipwreck Tours, and Pictured Rocks
Cruises. Be sure to try a pasty, a traditional Cornish meat pie brought by miners in the 19th and
early 20th centuries. There are two shops in Munising where you can sample this local treat.
Marquette, a scenic 40-minute drive west on Hwy M-28, offers a variety of attractions. As you
approach, you'll notice the terrain changing to picturesque low mountains. Climb Sugarloaf
Mountain for stunning views, and visit Presque Isle Park to see ore boats loading iron ore
pellets destined for steel mills in Indiana and Ohio. Marquette is also great for trail riding,
with opportunities to rent bikes or bring your own. The area features lighthouses, museums,
charming shops, and excellent dining options, making it a worthwhile side trip.
