1935 Plymouth Street Rod

On February 25 - 27, 2000 Kemp's Rod & Restoration was
featured in the 48th Annual Big Kmart Autorama in Detroit where they
were runner up for the Don Ridler Memorial Award. There were a total
of 530 cars to be judged and this 1935 Plymouth was chosen to be one
of the top 8 cars of the show. The Don Ridler award is presented
annually at the Detroit Autorama to the best new vehicle - first time
shown. This award has become the most sought after show prize in
North America. The 1935 Plymouth also took 1st place in its class of
Radical Custom Rod Coupe.

Full boxed frame rails, mustang II front suspension,
Ford 9" rear end, triangulated 4 bar. New center cross
member to house 518A automatic overdrive transmission.
Fitted up to a 560HP blown big block 440 mopar
engine.

Extensive sheet metal fabrication, 35 ply 5 window
coupe body. Floor pan, wider wheel wells. Kemps fabricated
door panels, 1/4 panel section, rocker panels. Top chopped 1
3/4", roof filled, front sheet metal has been remounted for
a lower stance and was also pulled forward 2 1/2". Grill
shell thinned out and leaned back, running boards
lengthened.

Kemps fabricated new smooth running boards, aluminum
hood and hood sides. Hand formed port holes into aluminum
hood side panels. New lengthened grille, aluminum grille
shell ring. Finned hoodside trim.

Air conditioning was fitted under the dash, power
windows, power seat, am-fm, cassette, remote CD changer,
power brakes, full gauge package, flush mount windshield and
power rear window.

Body fit and finish is show quality. Paint is Sikkens
base coat/clear coat. Kemps custom mixed color. All body
panels will be color sanded and rubbed out.
