Copper Harbor Pathway

Enjoy the romance and wilderness experience of the Northwoods when skiing at Copper Harbor. The trails are machine or snowshoe groomed as necessary.

Copper Harbor Nordic Ski Trails include an easy rated, 9km loop groomed for classic XC sking from the village through Fort Wilkins State Park featuring scenic sections along Lake Fanny Hooe.

Although the two trail systems do not connect, the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge hosts 13km of professionally groomed classic XC ski trails. These easy/intermediate purpose built trails wind through the hardwood forest and provide ski-in/ski-out access at the Lodge. The 25 + mile human-powered trail network used for hiking & mountain biking in the summer are marked for use as snowshoe trails during the winter months.

TRAIL DESCRIPTIONS:

FORT WILKIN'S STATE PARK - 3.4 km - Family - Easy skiing along Lake Fanny Hooe and through the State Park.

JOHN LINCOLN GREEN TRAIL - 1 km - Family -Short gentle run along shore of Lake Fanny Hooe.

CLARK MINE - 7.2 km -Intermediate - Gentle and steep climb up and gradual and steep descent.

KAMAKAZIE - 9 km - Intermediate to Expert - Long steep hill.

HUNTER'S POINT - 3.2 km - Family - Easy snowshoeing along Lake Superior's shoreline.

ESTIVANT PINES - 5.4 km - Snowshoe trail ski through virgin white pine forest.
