The Blue House on Portage Lake is located 3 miles south of Houghton on the shores of Portage Lake in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and is conveniently located near Michigan Tech University, the Rozsa Center, and the scenic Keweenaw Peninsula. (map)

Northwoods Resort offers apartment style units by Portage Lake with easy access to the docks and the waterfront.
The wonderful large deck by the lakeside is ideal for relaxing, catching a little sun, reading, or having a meal. There are charcoal and gas grills for guests to use. Sit around the campfire and enjoy the night sky over the lake. We have two long docks, one for fishing boats and the other for sunning and swimming. The water has a sand bottom and is nice and shallow for the children. There is a badminton net in a sandy area and a basketball hoop for practicing those long shots. The Lakeside biking-walking trail goes right by the resort for your stroll along the water’s edge.
