The Norway area abounds with history when Iron Mining was the major industry along the Menominee Iron Range. The Iron Mountain Iron Mine, on the east side of Norway offers tours of the mine that produced millions of tons of iron ore for the steel mills and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The rock shop at the entrance to the mine has a large selection of interesting and unusual rocks.
