Winter at the Super 8 Motel of Houghton

The Super 8 Motel of Houghton is conveniently located near an abundance of winter fun. The Houghton and Hancock area gets an abundance of snow so this is a perfect place for your winter get-a-way. The Super 8 motel is only 2 miles from Mt. Ripley which has outstanding downhill skiing. Mt Ripley is directly across the waterway from the motel. During the winter it is possible to see skiers coming down the steep hills.

The Super 8 is located on the snowmobile trail that connects to the main trails so you can ride right from the motel on hundreds of miles of scenic groomed trails. Snowmobile rental available in Houghton and Hancock. There is a very large parking area for trailers.

Snowmobile to any part of the Upper Peninsula from here. You might want to go north to the deep snows of the Keweenaw Peninsula, south on the Bill Nicholls trail to Ontonagon, or east to Sault Ste. Marie or St. Ignace.

Cross country skiers will enjoy the Maasto Hiihto Ski Trails and the Michigan Tech Trails offering groomed trails from easy to expert.
