Vacation home for rent on Lake Superior in Big Bay, MI, 25 miles north of Marquette in the north central Upper Peninsula. Enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Superior, the surrounding unspoiled wilderness, and the Huron Mountains.

The Squaw Beach House is an ideal location for those who want to enjoy abundant outdoor recreation from bird watching to hiking rugged trails with wonderful photographic opportunities around every corner.

The Squaw Beach House has three bedrooms with two bathrooms and will sleep 7 guests. The interior has comfortable furnishings with knotty pine walls. The open concept living area has satellite TV with a DVD player and a wood-burning fireplace. Relax in front of a crackling fire after a busy day. There is also electric heat for those cool mornings. The kitchen has full size appliances, a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and a dishwasher.

The deck is furnished with a table and chairs for enjoying the outdoors and the fantastic view of Lake Superior. A gas grill is provided for your cookouts and the fire pit by the lake is perfect for evening campfires and experiencing the brilliant night sky.

There are three bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen-size bed, the second bedroom has a set of bunk beds with a full-size bed on the bottom and a twin bed on the top, and the third bedroom has a full-size bed. There are two bathrooms. One bathroom has a tub/shower combination and the other bathroom has a shower. Linens, towels, and paper products are provided for our guests.

The Squaw Beach House is located on Squaw Beach, a pleasant little bay on the shores of Lake Superior. Enjoy your morning beverage as you watch the sunrise over the lake or take a walk on the sand beach and get your toes wet in the cool clear water.

Big Bay is surrounded by the undeveloped wilderness of the Escanaba State Forest for hiking, mountain biking, visiting waterfalls, bird watching, kayaking, fishing, hunting, and ATV'ing. You can ride from the cottage door to the many ATV trails in the area.

Anglers can go charter fishing, fish on Lake Independence, or head to remote trout streams.

The town of Big Bay is just a short distance from the Squaw Beach House for groceries, food, and a laundromat. Wireless Internet access is available at the general store. Big Bay is where the actual "Anatomy of a Murder" took place and part of the classic movie was filmed in the town.

Marquette, the largest city in the Upper Peninsula, is only 25 miles south of the Squaw Beach House for shopping, sightseeing, golfing, or enjoying special events and festivals. See historic buildings, freighters loading and unloading their cargo, or visit the Marquette Lighthouse and the Maritime Museum.

Rates: *
Nightly: $200.00 per night, 3-night minimum
Weekly: $1,250 per week. Saturday to Saturday
Rates for Summer Holiday weeks (Memorial Day, 4th of July, & Labor Day): $1500.00 per week. Weeks run from Saturday before the holiday to the following Saturday.
*Rates are plus tax and subject to change without notice
