Housekeeping Cabins on South Manistique Lake and our two-bedroom Log Cabin (pictures below) on Big Manistique Lake, in Curtis in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, just 65 miles west of the Mackinac Bridge. Southlake Cabins are located on the north shore of South Manistique Lake, 1/4 mile west of Curtis. ( Map)

There are 9 modern 1, 2, & 3 bedroom housekeeping cabins that are fully equipped for your use. Each cabin has a full bath, cooking utensils, dinnerware, large refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, flat screen TVs, linens, blankets, pillows, picnic table, charcoal BBQ grill, and lawn chairs. There is a fire ring for your campfire. Please bring your own bath towels, dish towels and paper products.

A 14' aluminum boat is included with the cabin rental upon request. Extra boat and motor rentals are available. There is a nice beach for swimming and a dock for sunning and relaxing. There is also a screened fish house.

South Manistique Lake is ideal fishing year round for walleye, northern pike, perch, large and small mouth bass and an abundance of panfish. There are many trout streams nearby. Late May and June are the best times for Pike and Walleye. Perch fishing is good almost anytime.

 

All cabins are rented weekly during the summer, Memorial Day to Labor Day.
After Labor Day, three night minimum

The Manistique Lakes area is great for fishing, hunting, boating, canoeing, hiking, biking, swimming, water skiing, sightseeing and just plain relaxing.

The Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore ; The lower and upper Tahquamenon Falls ; Big Springs (Kitch-iti-kipi) , known to the indians as the mirror of heaven; Seul Choix Lighthouse , Park and Museum, known locally as "the haunted lighthouse"; Crisp Point Lighthouse; The Soo locks ; the 95,000 acre Seney National Wildlife Refuge Grand Sable Falls and Sand Dunes in Grand Marais; Fayette, the Historic Iron Smelting Town : Whitefish Point Lighthouse ; The Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum ; Whitefish Point Bird Observatory ; the Whitefish Point Underwater Diving Preserve and more.
