Sherman's Resort is located six miles south-west of Curtis, on a protected bay, the west side of 4,000-acre South Manistique Lake, you will find our secluded quiet resort. A scenic two mile private road leading to our resort provides thrills of nature's beauty and wildlife. We have a safe sandy beach for children and plenty of play area.

Complete family fun whether it be fishing, swimming, boating, water skiing, hiking, nature study, bird watching or just plain relaxing.

Our campground offers 6 sites with electricity, water, showers, picnic table, fire pit, and use of our sandy beach and dock. Dump station available on the grounds.

Sherman's Resort and Campground offers great fishing in South Manistique Lake.

Fishing for walleyes and muskies starts in early May, with Northern Pike, Perch, Whitefish, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass and Panfish hitting the peak in July and August.

Fall fishing for Perch, Walleye and Northern Pike is good for later fisherman.

Trout fisherman will find ideal waters nearby.

Fishing Guide Service available from May 15 through September 31st.

 Deer & Bear Hunting at Sherman's Resort and Campgrounds

We are situated in a fine rifle and bow hunting area and your chances of bagging your buck or bear or your limit of ducks, grouse, rabbits is better than average. We will show you the best places. Our resort adjoins hundreds of acres of state hunting lands. You do not have to use our guide service to stay at Sherman's Resort.

Guide Services

Sherman's Resort offers Whitetail Deer Guided Hunts for bow, muzzle loader, and rifle seasons, and Bear Hunting Guide Service in the Newberry Bear Management Area of the Upper Peninsula.

Deer Hunting: We offer baited blinds with lodging available at Sherman's Resort.

Bear Hunting: We have 25 years of experience and offer guided bear hunting trips from September 10th through October 26th. Hunt from baited tree stands in remote areas of Mackinac County in Michigan's Upper Peninsula..

50% of Package Price requested at time of reservation. Remaining balance is due upon arrival.

Phil's Bear Hunting Packages:
Five day package includes a 2 bedroom cabin and a baited tree stand. Meals not included. Package Price: $1,200.00 per person for the five days. Maximum of five people in each cabin.

Five day guided hunt including a baited tree stand without lodging: Price: $800.00 per person

Deer Hunting Packages:
Deer-Bow Season
Daily guided hunt with baited tree stand: Price: $150.00 daily per person, with a minimum of three days. Does not include lodging.

Deer Rifle & Muzzle Season
Daily guided hunt with baited blind: Price: $100.00 daily per person, with a minimum of three days. Does not include lodging.

Deer-Bow-Rifle-Muzzle Seasons
Three day package includes a 2 bedroom cabin and baited blind. Meals not included. $600.00 for one hunter for the three days. Each additional hunter, $300 per hunter per baited blind. Limit of 5 hunters. Additional days can be purchased.

Three day package includes a 3 bedroom cabin and a baited blind. Meals not included. $600.00 for one hunter for the three days. Each additional hunter, $300 per hunter per baited blind. Limit of 6 hunters. Additional days can be purchased.

 

Local Attractions within 15 Minutes to a 2 Hour Drive

While staying at Sherman's Resort, you might like to visit some of these interesting nearby local attractions: The natural beauty of the lower and upper Tahquamenon Falls; Big Springs (Kitch-iti-kipi), known to the indians as the mirror of heaven; Seul Choix Lighthouse, Park and Museum, Mackinac Island and its carriage tours could be a day well spent; The SOO locks-view large Great Lakes freighters and locks in operation; close by, visit the National Seney Wildlife Refuge; Grand Sable Falls and Sand Dunes in Grand Marais and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore; Ghost Town in Fayette State Park; Whitefish Point Lighthouse, the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, Whitefish Point Bird Observatory and the Whitefish Point Underwater Diving Preserve, just outside of Paradise. Golfers will enjoy the course in Newberry, just a few miles north of the resort.
