Rental Cabin on Powell Lake in the
Hiawatha National Forest
Schultz's Lakeside Cabin is a cozy 2-bedroom rental cabin on the shores of Powell Lake, just south of Munising in the Hiawatha National Forest in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Schultz's Lakeside Cabin is a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. There is a nice dock in front of the cabin for sunning, reading, and watching for wildlife. Sand bottomed beach for wading, swimming, and perfect for kids of all ages. Drop your line off of the end of the dock in one of the best fishing spots on the lake and try your luck catching a few lunker Bass, Master Angler Northern Pike, Perch, or a bunch of pan fish . . . . Delicious cooked on the charcoal grill. A canoe comes with the cabin for exploring the lake and taking a quiet peaceful paddle around the shoreline while you watch for wildlife. A rental pontoon boat is available for those desiring a larger boat.
The Lakeside Cabin has an open concept living area with a complete kitchen containing a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster along with cooking and dining utensils. The living area has a wood-burning stove and a gas heater for cool evenings.
The two bedrooms have a double bed in one room and bunk beds in the other bedroom with a futon in the living area. The cabin sleeps up to 4 guests. Bathroom with a shower. All rooms are kept very clean. Linens, towels, and paper products are provided but you will want to bring your soaps and personal products and your beach towels.
The cabin offers a peaceful setting for relaxing and reflecting without the noise of a TV or a phone. There is a deck with chairs overlooking the lake that is a wonderful spot for watching for wildlife or checking out the night sky filled with brilliant stars over Powell Lake. Some of the frequent visitors to Powell Lake are eagles, loons, blue herons, geese, ducks, and a wide variety of song birds.
The Lakeside Cabin is surrounded by back roads and trails in the Hiawatha National Forest. Enjoy a stroll through the woods as you look for wild berries, delightful wild flowers, and enjoy the singing of the birds.
Bring your bicycles and enjoy peddling some of the back woods and trails in the forest . . . .the 26 mile Valley Spur Mountain Bike Trail, the 9 mile Bruno's Run Trail System, or the bicycle trails on Grand Island.
A short drive takes you to Munising for hiking in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore or on Grand Island. Enjoy one of the cruises or just sit in the peaceful waterfront park overlooking Munising Bay on Lake Superior. Take a canoe trip down the AuTrain River. Visit some of the area waterfalls . . . some can be seen right from your car, others only a short walk, or a few are a good hike through the woods.
Schultz's Lakeside Cabin is your basic "no frills" cabin where you can enjoy nature and relax surrounded by the beauty of the woods and water of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
