Camping at River Road RV Park & Campground, Ontonagon, MI
near the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in the Upper
Peninsula of Michigan. Located by the Ontonagon River and Marina with
easy access to Lake Superior, and just 1 mile from downtown
Ontonagon.

Road RV Park and Campground offers 30 full hookups with pull through
sites for larger RV's and shady tent sites to accommodate all
campers. Our full hookup sites have Cable TV and Wi-Fi. Pets Welcome. |

The Service Building has a laundry, flush
toilets, and a new and modern shower facility that is handicapped
accessible and features hot showers and a heated floor for those cool
days and winter months.
River Road Campground also offers a Dump Station, Game Room with a pool table,
Laundry Room, Playground for the kids, basketball hoop, volleyball, and fire
pits for those evening campfires.
River Road Campground is across the road from the west bank of
the Ontonagon River and the Marina where you will find a fishing
pier, boat ramp for your fishing boat, and fish cleaning facilities.
Charter Service, boat, and canoe rental in town. Great fishing on the
Ontonagon River or try Lake Superior for Walleye, Lake Trout,
Whitefish, or Salmon - - Delicious cooked on the grill.

Many recreational opportunities in the Porcupine Mountains
and the nearby Ottawa National forest for fishing, hiking, hunting,
canoeing, and mountain biking.

River Road Bunkhouse
We offer reasonable lodging year round in our Bunk House. Lodging is
"Dorm Style"
providing sleeping for 8-9 guest.
The Bunkhouse is perfect for a group or any
traveler who would like reasonable lodging and ideal for fishermen,
hikers, mountain bikers, skiers, and snowmobilers. |
Winter Camping:
We are open year round for winter camping and are on the
snowmobile trail with trails leading west to the Porkies or ride up
to Houghton and the Keweenaw Peninsula on the Bill Nichols Trail.
Easy access to the snowmobile trails from your campsite. Enjoy downhill and cross country skiing on miles
of groomed trails in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State
park.
Area Attractions:
While you are visiting Ontonagon you might like to stop at the
Ontonagon County Historical Society Museum & Gift Shop or tour
the Ontonagon Lighthouse built in 1866. Don't miss the awesome view
of Lake of the Clouds and a wonderful panorama of Lake Superior in
the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park.

The area just south of Ontonagon was the site of some of the
earliest copper mining using the pits mined by ancient miners many
years ago. You might like to visit the Museum in Rockland and the Old
Victoria Restoration where log homes of the 1900's are being restored
and contain period furnishings. Victoria is where the famous
Ontonagon Boulder was found that is now in the Smithsonian Institute.
