A Cabin on Nevins Lake is located between Grand Marais and Munising near the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Surrounded by the Lake Superior State Forest, and near the Kingston Plains and the Fox River, the rental is situated in a perfect four seasons recreational area. Nearby is the snowmobile/ATV trail head of Adams Trail and Highway H-58.
This unique lake front loft style bunkhouse cabin is situated is nestled in a wooded setting. The cabin sleeps 4 people comfortably and can accommodate up to 6 people. There are 2 full size beds and 2 twin beds in the bedroom.
The living room has a queen size sleeper sofa with a glass door wood-burning fireplace, satellite TV with DVD 5 disc player and theater speaker system. The small kitchen is in an open area off the living room and is equipped with a gas range, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, toaster and a stackable washer & dryer.
There is a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the lake where you can relax with a cup of coffee and enjoy the wonderful view of the lake & northwoods. Linens and bath towels are supplied, but please bring extra paper products and trash bags or anything else to make your northern experience more enjoyable.
Nevins Lake is a beautiful clear lake surrounded by the northwoods and full of Northern Pike, Bass, and pan fish for the avid anglers. The famed Fox River, a Blue Ribbon trout stream, is only a short distance away for those who enjoy river fishing for those elusive trout. Enjoy fresh cooked fish over an open camp fire or on the Weber grill on the cabin porch. There is a dock on the lake front with a 14' aluminum rowboat for our guests to use for fishing or rowing around the beautiful shoreline while exploring the lake and islands.
Winter brings big snows to Alger County, average seasonal snowfall can exceed 300 inches. The Cabin on Nevins Lake has direct access to snowmobile and ATV trails right from the cabin door. Snowmobile trails connect with the trail system that leads throughout the Upper Peninsula. Snowmobile rentals in Munising and Grand Marais.
Off trail riding in deep powder can be experienced in the Kingston Plains for some outstanding back country riding in deep snow. Snowmobile rental is available in Munising, Grand Marais and Seney. Cross country skiing or snow shoeing can be enjoyed right from the cabin door on back roads & track trails around Nevins Lake.
The Cabin on Nevins Lake is only about 20-25 minutes from Grand Marais and Munising where you will find shopping, gift stores, restaurants, and an entrance to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The Munising area offers a Tour of the Pictured Rocks, or the Glass Bottomed Boat Shipwreck Tour, scuba diving in the Alger Underwater Preserve, and charter fishing on Lake Superior or the inland lakes and streams. The Seney National Wildlife Refuge is just south of the cabin or you can visit the Kewadin Casino in Christmas, just west of Munising. Many waterfalls to explore and there are a few lighthouses to see. Au Sable Lighthouse in the Pictured Rocks and Seul Choix Lighthouse in Gulliver are open to the public.
If you are planning your snow lovers or up north vacation get away to this area remember to make your reservations early. The popularity of this destination makes advance reservations a MUST.
