Looking Glass Cottage on Mirror Lake is a three-bedroom vacation cottage rental in the Hiawatha National Forest, just south of Munising and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Mirror Lake is a private spring fed lake and great for
swimming, kayaking, and fishing. The beach has a nice sand
bottom for wading and there is a water slide and a large
raft attached to the dock for water fun. A rowboat, a kayak,
and a canoe are provided with the rental for paddling or
rowing around this beautiful clear lake. Mirror lake is
stocked with trout as well as other species of fish, so
bring your fishing equipment and see if you can catch your
dinner, delicious cooked on the gas or the charcoal grill by
the cabin. Looking Glass Cottage is built into the hill with a lower walkout level. There are three bedrooms. With two bedrooms on the main level furnished with a queen-size bed in each bedroom. The bathroom has a tub and shower combination. The third bedroom is in the lower level is furnished with a queen-size bed and a twin bed. The bathroom on the lower level has a shower. Linens and towels are provided for our guests. The fully stocked kitchen contains a new stove, a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, pots, pans, and dishes with a snack bar that seats 5 people. There is a queen-size sofa sleeper in the living room for extra guests.
The Family Room in the lower level has a gas fireplace and a large bar that seats 7 people. The TV (local channels) has VCR and DVD players for watching your favorite movies. There is a washer and dryer in the utility room, but please bring your own detergent. The cottage is located only 15 miles from Munising and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on Lake Superior, a wonderful spot for hiking and viewing waterfalls. Enjoy a view of the Pictured Rocks from the water on the Pictured Rocks Cruise or the Shipwreck Tour in the Glass Bottomed boat offered several times daily. There are cascading waterfalls, canoe trips, and wonderful hiking trails. You can tour Grand Island by hiking, biking, or on a bus ride for those who want a more leisurely visit to the Island. Bikes can be rented at the Ferry Dock. Outdoor enthusiasts will have fun riding on all the back roads in the Hiawatha National Forest and there are some designated trails for non-motorized riding. Looking Glass Cottage is on the ATV trails for some great riding in the forest.. Fall at the Pictured Rocks is breathtaking with wonderful photo opportunities everywhere.
