Luxury in the wilderness. This is a recently refurnished "true northern" log home with full log exterior and interior, vaulted ceiling with log beams, and a gas fireplace to set the mood. The modern kitchen offers full-size appliances, dishwasher, cookware, dishes, and utensils and opens to the great room and dining area. Sleeps up to 16 guests. There is a land line telephone in the cabin for local calls, incoming calls, and 911 emergency calls. The number is 906-387-2425.

The Retreat conveniently offers two full bathrooms, two full-sized washers and dryers, and is completely furnished with linens, towels, and basic eco-friendly paper products. It's cozy enough for just a couple, or it will easily accommodate large groups comfortably . . . all you have to do is bring your food and toys.
The master bedroom has two queen-size log beds and a bathroom with a tub/shower combination. There is a sleep loft upstairs with four twin beds.
The lower level has three bedrooms: Two with full-size log beds, one with two full-size beds, and a bathroom with a shower. There is a nice living area for relaxing.
A patio door opens to a large wrap-around deck featuring a 6 burner propane grill. The deck overlooks beautiful pines, apple trees, and a fire pit! What a great way to end a long day in the north woods . . . roasting marshmallows around the fire pit!
The Log Cabin Retreat sits in a small clearing on 20 acres surrounded by tall pines, rolling woods, and even a few apple trees which bring the deer in at night! Although conveniently located on a paved road, The Retreat is very secluded, private, and quiet; the perfect location for visiting all the wonderful area attractions and then returning to this comfortable retreat. It is a great spot for a family reunion, guys' weekend, or a girls' getaway. Have fun hiking the trails, visiting the farmer's market, fishing the many lakes, rivers, and creaks, kayaking, crafting, or relaxing on the sandy Munising beach.
If you go out the back trails, we're just a minute or two from Lake Superior State Forest! Trails abound and surround you for every activity you desire from hiking & biking to ATV's and cross country skiing. . . . and yes, of course, snowmobiling. We're only 1/4 mile from the Bear Trap Inn where you can pick up the Haywire Trail (#8) for a beautiful ride throughout the U.P..

The Log Cabin Retreat offers direct access to the snowmobile trails with snowmobile rentals nearby. Enjoy the many things to see and do while in the area. Lake Superior, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Miners Castle, Grand Island, Glass Bottom Boat Rides with Shipwreck Tours, and Charter Fishing on Lake Superior.
Many breathtaking waterfalls just minutes away. Hiking trails, Pictured Rocks Golf Course, Snowmobile trails, Cross Country Ski trails from 2 to 12 miles in length, Scuba Diving at the Alger Underwater Preserve, Christmas Motorsports race track, Kewadin Casino at Christmas (4 1/2 miles west of Munising), shopping, and great restaurants. Munising is next to the Hiawatha National Forest. Marquette is a one hour drive and Tahquamenon Falls is within an hour and a half.
