This is a "true northern" log home with full log exterior and interior, vaulted ceiling with log beams, and a Franklin style wood stove to set the mood. The modern kitchen offers full-size appliances, cookware, dishes, and utensils and opens to the great room and dining area. Telephone and cable TV with DVD and all wood provided.
The master bedroom has two queen-size log beds, the lower level has three bedrooms, two with full-size log beds and one with two full-size beds. The sleep loft features four twin beds. The Retreat conveniently offers two full bathrooms, a full-size washer and dryer, and is completely furnished with linens, towels, and basic paper products. It's cozy enough for just a couple, or it will easily accommodate large groups comfortably . . . all you have to do is bring your food and toys.
A patio door opens to a large wrap-around deck overlooking beautiful pines, apple trees, and a fire pit! The unique Snorkel Stove Wood-Fired Hot Tub
is heated by a wood-burning stove totally submerged
in the tub. When you get to the cabin, first fill the hot
tub with water, add some wood in the stove, and the
hot tub will soon be ready for your use. Wood is

Although conveniently located on a paved road, The Retreat is very secluded, private, and quiet. If you go out the back trails, we're just a minute or two from Lake Superior State Forest! Trails abound and surround you for every activity you desire from hiking & biking to ATV's and cross country skiing. . . . and yes, of course, snowmobiling. We're only 1/4 mile from the Bear Trap Inn where you can pick up the Haywire Trail (#8) for a beautiful ride throughout the U.P.. WOW! The Log Cabin Retreat offers direct access to the snowmobile trails with snowmobile rentals nearby. Enjoy the many things to see and do while in the area. Lake Superior, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Miners Castle, Grand Island, Glass Bottom Boat Rides with Shipwreck Tours, and Charter Fishing on Lake Superior. Many breathtaking waterfalls just minutes away. Hiking trails, Pictured Rocks Golf Course, Snowmobile trails, Cross Country Ski trails from 2 to 12 miles in length, Scuba Diving at the Alger Underwater Preserve, Christmas Motorsports race track, Kewadin Casino at Christmas (4 1/2 miles west of Munising), shopping, and great restaurants.
