Shipwrecks
- One of the most exciting things you can do in the Upper
Peninsula is take the Glass Bottom Boat Shipwreck Tour out of
Munising Michigan. The frigid water of Lake Superior has preserved
the wrecks and you have a teriffic view, including a 150 foot
wooden schooner which sank in 1870. Her top deck is just 12 feet
below the water's surface where she has remained for 128 years.

The Edmund Fitzgerald
The Edmund Fitzgerald went down in 1975 in Lake Superior, one of
the most dangerous bodies of water in the world. Check out the

The Whitefish Point
Museum is located next to the historic Whitefish Point
Lighthouse. The museum houses extensive light house and shipwreck
artifacts, an Edmund Fitzgerald display and a theater for dramatic
shipwreck films (906-635-1742 ) open May 15 - Oct. 15
