Kemp's Log Home is located 1 mile from endless snowmobile trails and groomed cross country ski trails; 3 miles from beautiful Chassell Bay featuring swimming in crystal clear water, convenient boat launch, volleyball court, horseshoes and a fishing dock; 11.5 miles from historic Downtown Houghton and the Gateway to the Copper Country; and 22 miles from all night entertainment at the Ojibway Casino in Baraga.

We are located 1 mile from the Chassell-Houghton trail on the old railroad grade with easy trail access and we have access to the Chassell-Painesdale trail using back roads. Snowmobile rentals for the Chassell area at Dan's Polaris in Houghton and M&M Power Sports in Hancock.

If you want to cook some fresh Lake Superior Whitefish, Trout, Walleye or Perch, stop in at Peterson's Fish Market in Hancock, across from the Quincy Mine Shaft.

Whether you're hunting in the woods, shopping the specialty shops of Chassell, enjoying the invigorating fresh air and nature's scenery, kicking back in front of the warm glow of the fireplace or just watching the sun set from the wraparound deck...it doesn't get much better than this.

Directions:

Take Highway 41 south from Houghton, or north from L'Anse to Chassell. Take Painesdale Road, (turn at blinking caution light) west 1.2 miles to Pike River Road. Turn left (south), and go 1.4 miles to "Heaven in a Log Home."
