The Historic Brownstone Inn offers fine dining in a casual, friendly atmosphere. The varied menu offers delicious entrees, crispy salads, homemade soup, chili, sandwiches, variety of appetizers, yummy deserts, and your favorite beverages.

The Brownstone Inn is located across from Lake Superior on scenic Highway M-28, 2 miles west of the blinking light In Au Train or about 12 miles west of Munising.  Look for the stone building on the south side of the highway. The Brownstone Inn is on the snowmobile and ATV trail #417.

The Brownstone Inn welcomes everyone to stop by for lunch or dinner.  We serve lunch all day as well as a children’s menu for the kids. We have a full bar with a nice wine list, domestic, micro-brewed and imported beer, and your favorite beverages and blender drinks.

Our lunch menu features a wide variety of sandwiches and burgers, homemade Soup de Jour, a variety of crisp salads, beverages, and our famous deserts. Our lunch menu is served all day for those who want a lighter fare.

Dinner service starts at 4 pm and includes Filet Mignon, Rib-Eye Steak, Liver with Bacon & Onions, Chicken, Norwegian Salmon, Lake Superior Whitefish, Spinach Lasagna, Extra Jumbo Gulf Shrimp plus much more. Visit our website for our full menu and specials of the week.

Deserts are something special. Enjoy the  Brownstone Apple Tart, Fudge Cake,  the Profitirole filled with ice cream and covered with hot brandy fudge sauce, plus the pie of the day.

 Weekend Specials: Served along with our regular menu,
Friday: Our Fish Fry features Yellow Lake Perch, Walleye, or a variety of land and ocean fish.
Saturday: House Prime Rib in a three-pepper rub.
Sunday: BBQ Pork Ribs with a choice of sauce.

Our Gift Corner contains sweatshirts, “T” shirts, hats, and books by local authors.

Private Dining Room
The Onota Room will seat up to 50 guests and is ideal for a wedding, shower, birthday party, wine tasting, and family reunions. We offer a personalized menu to suit your event.

The Brownstone Inn was built in 1946 using Lake Superior beach stone and local materials. The vintage whole log furniture was hand-crafted for the Brownstone Inn.
