Lodging in Greenland, Michigan, 10 miles southeast of Ontonagon, MI near the Ottawa National Forest and the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Located in the heart of Big Snow Country and ATV trails.

Big Buck Cabin is a fully furnished log cabin and includes a fully equipped kitchen. The cabin has one bedroom on the main level with a queen-size bed and a loft with 2 twin beds. Sleeps six guests. The comfortable couch in the living area converts to a queen-size sofa sleeper with 2" memory foam for extra guests.

All linens, towels and paper products are provided including complementary coffee.

There is a deck on the front of the cabin for relaxing and enjoying this beautiful wooded area. Guests will find a table, chairs, and a propane grill for outdoor cooking as well as a large fire pit.

Also available for rental 38 LODGE, a large 1200 sq. ft. 3 bedroom rental which sleeps 8 people.  The Lodge includes a queen bed in the master bedroom, two twin beds in the second bedroom, and a full-size bed in the third bedroom.  The comfortable couch in the living area converts to a queen-size sofa sleeper with 2" memory foam for extra guests. The Lodge is fully furnished and includes a fully equipped kitchen.

CHECK-IN 3:00pm with CHECK-OUT by 10:30pm. Reservations must be paid in full prior to arrival.

CANCELLATION POLICY: If you cancel within 14 days of arrival and we are UNABLE to re-book, the deposit is forfeited and the remaining balance is due in full. NO SNOW POLICY: If no snow and trails are designated closed, refund will be made. No snow at our discretion. No refunds for early departure. Emergency exceptions are at our discretion.

Big Buck Cabin and 38 Lodge are is conveniently located for enjoying the attractions and recreational opportunities in the Western Upper Peninsula. Excellent fishing on Lake Superior, only 15 miles north of the cottage or try your luck fishing the nearby Ontonagon River. There is a wonderful one-mile sandy swimming beach on Lake Superior in Ontonagon at the Township Park for sunning, swimming, or a little rock picking. Take a walk along the beach and enjoy the sunset and the view of the Porkies. The park offers picnic tables, fire pits, and a playground for the kids.

Hiking trails abound in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park with a variety of trails through the forest wilderness. Take a walk up to Lake of the Clouds for an outstanding view of this beautiful Lake surrounded by dense forest. The Porcupine Mountains also offers winter fun with miles of groomed cross-country ski trails and downhill skiing at the Porcupine Mountain Ski Hill overlooking Lake Superior.

The Ottawa National Forest offers mountain biking on the back roads or designated trails and the North Country Scenic Hiking Trail is just a few miles away.

The area around Greenland offers excellent bird hunting as well as hunting for other small and large game in the public lands of the Ottawa National Forest.

The rentals are located at the intersection of snowmobile/ATV trails #12 & #13 where you will find endless riding. There is direct access to the Bill Nicholls multi-use trail for snowmobiling, mountain biking, and ATVing. This trail leads to Houghton, with connecting trails up to the Keweenaw Peninsula.

Enjoy visiting the several area waterfalls, go berry picking, or canoeing and kayaking on the nearby rivers and streams. To learn about the mining heritage around Greenland visit the Old Victoria Restoration at the site of the Victoria Mine.

Greenland is in the heart of big snow country and Big Buck Cabin and 38 Lodge are located at the intersection of Trail #12 & #13 at the end of the driveway so you can ride right from the cabin door and travel north, south, east, or west on the trail system.
