“Where beautiful sunsets, swimming, sunning, kayaking, canoeing, and camping
make your vacation what vacations are meant to be. ”

After a day of adventure in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula relax in one of our Yurts, Platform Tents, Native American Tipi’s, or pitch your own tent in our rustic campsites.  All units are on wood platforms.

Charcoal grills and picnic tables are located throughout the resort, and there are fire pits for your campfire. Units sleep up to 5 people with a twin over double bunk bed and a futon. Wi-Fi is available as well as solar powered lighting inside. Restrooms and showers are located just a short walk away.

All you need to bring is your sleeping bag, gear, and cook ware.  Don’t have any camping equipment?  We have sleeping bags and pillows for rent as well as ice and firewood at the camp store.

Au Train Beach Resort is centrally located in Alger County in the magnificent Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We are in the heart of the Hiawatha National Forest, easily accessible via highways M-28 or U.S. 2, yet only 12 miles west of Munising and 20 miles east of Marquette.

Make the AuTrain Beach Resort and Campground home base for your vacation pleasure.

Whatever your ideal vacation needs are, you'll find them in the AuTrain Beach  area. The whole family can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, camping,  canoeing, birdwatching, hiking, biking or just plain relaxing. The AuTrain River is one of the safest and most scenic and enjoyable streams in the state for canoes and kayaks. The days are warm and nights are cool. This is the perfect place to get away from it all.

Mother Nature treats the area to a blaze of color during late summer and early fall! The Au Train River Song Bird Trail is a must do.

Be sure to check out our kayaking tours at the Pictured Rocks, the Sunset Dinner Cruise around Grand Island, and enjoy some great meals and drink at the Duck Pond Eatery and Beer Garden and Bay Furnace Smokin’ BBQ in Christmas- just down the road 8 miles east.
