The "Art Show in the Woods"

The Annual Spread Eagle,Wisconsin Art Show
will be held on July 20, 2014.

The show is located at The ChuckWagon, (the Historic Old Log Cabin), in Spread Eagle Wisconsin on Highway US 2, 7 miles northwest of Iron Mountain, Michigan.

Come out and see a juried showcase of original art and fine crafts
The show is held from 9 am to 3 pm (central time). Rain or Shine.

Enjoy these beautiful works of art with special booths the children will enjoy.
Food and beverages available during the day at the outdoor cook-out or inside the Chuckwagon.

2013 Spread Eagle Art Show


Sharon Schmeltzer

Sharon Schmeltzer from Kingsford, Michigan is a featured artist at the 2013 Spread Eagle Art Show. Sharon taught art in the Breitung Township Schools until her retirement and is now finding more time to devote to her love of art. Sharon's preferred medium is oils, but she works in a variety of media including Pastels, Water Colors, Pen and Ink, Colored Pencils, Graphite, and Mixed Media. Sharon is an award-winning artist represented in solo exhibits, juried shows, and galleries throughout the Midwest. Her paintings are currently on exhibit at the Ziyad & Co. Gallery in Calumet and the Sault Area Arts Center in Alberta House, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

Cathy Morey

Cathy Morey from Washburn, Wisconsin will be exhibiting her beautiful hand-woven rugs, placemats, table runners, and wall hangings at the Spread Eagle Art Show on Sunday, July 21st. Cathy and her husband Mark create hand-woven items on a loom using durable and beautiful fabrics, just as her grandmother taught her over 20 years ago. Cathy's Homestead Weaving operates 9 looms found in attics and basements that Mark has carefully restored and they work together as weavers.


Artists will be exhibiting a variety of art forms including oil paintings, watercolors, acrylics, and mixed media. Art Works include photography, luminous photography, and aerial photos of Spread Eagle and the surrounding area.  The new children's book, "Hamster After Dark"; oak tables & benches; semi-precious gemstone jewelry; soy candles; birdseye maple and curly wood items; Christmas Name ornaments; Lake Superior beach glass jewelry; and jewelry made from real flowers & butterfly wings.

The show also features antler art; Art in Clay; pine needle baskets; wooden toys; ladies summer clothing; wood turned bowls and vases; paper art; painted glassware; wire wrapped jewelry; beaded bonsai; rocks fossils, & minerals;pottery; pet bandanas; silverware jewelry; fabric items; Wine bottle art; art cards; and a variety of crafts

Wood carver Jim Dault from Spread Eagle, Wisconsin creates subtle original design Deep Wood Spirit carvings. Wood Spirits originated in Germany many years ago and were found in homes and gardens as a good luck omen. Jim creates a wood spirit from pieces of wood that he finds and has created several large carvings on the stumps of fallen trees in yards throughout the area. One spirit carving can be found at the entrance to Lake Antoine Park in honor of those serving in Iraq
