The "Art Show in the Woods"

The Annual Spread Eagle,Wisconsin Art Show will be held on July 21, 2013.

The show is located at The ChuckWagon, (the Historic Old Log Cabin), in Spread Eagle Wisconsin on Highway US 2, 7 miles northwest of Iron Mountain, Michigan.

Come out and see a juried showcase of original art and fine crafts
The show is held from 9 am to 3 pm (central time). Rain or Shine.

Enjoy these beautiful works of art with special booths the children will enjoy.
Food and beverages available during the day at the outdoor cook-out or inside the Chuckwagon.
Be sure to try the
hot dogs and the corn-on-the-cob cooked on the outdoor grill.

2012 Spread Eagle Art Show

Wood Art Work by Todd Johnson

Todd Johnson, from Vulcan, has loved working with wood most of his life. In fact, he is a builder by trade, owning Carpentry Unlimited of Vulcan, MI.


One of his favorite things is to work with wood burls and all natural woods. He makes many artistic and unusual pieces from these items.  He loves walking through the woods where he finds many of his " trophies pieces" and converts them to unusual artistic works of art. He was a first place artist in last month's Art for All 2012, winning a first place in wood

Pine Needle Baskets

Jeanette Losey from the Chicaugon Lake Area near Iron River has been making pine needle baskets for 30 years. She creates these original baskets using pine needles she collects in Florida and natural raffia for thread.

Artists will be exhibiting a variety of art forms including oil paintings, watercolors, acrylics, mixed media, and painted windows. Art Works include photography with poetry, luminous photography, and aerial photos of Spread Eagle and the surrounding area.  Viking & Scandinavian themed books for children; chain saw carvings; oak tables & benches; semi-precious gemstone jewelry; birdseye maple and curly wood items; original fashions for America Girl dolls; Christmas Names; Lake Superior beach glass jewelry; and jewelry made from real flowers & butterfly wings.

The show also features wood burls & roots made into pieces of artwork; pine needle baskets; wooden toys; ladies summer clothing; birch bark & driftwood items; wood turned bowls and vases; paper art; copper yard art; painted glassware; wire wrapped jewelry; beaded bonsai; rocks and gem jewelry; silverware jewelry; fabric items; wood carving; Christmas Ornaments; note cards; and a variety of crafts

Jim Dault

Wood carver Jim Dault from Spread Eagle, Wisconsin creates subtle original design Deep Wood Spirit carvings. Wood Spirits originated in Germany many years ago and were found in homes and gardens as a good luck omen. Jim creates a wood spirit from pieces of wood that he finds and has created several large carvings on the stumps of fallen trees in yards throughout the area. One spirit carving can be found at the entrance to Lake Antoine Park in honor of those serving in Iraq
