Superior Agate Haven Vacation Home on Lake Superior
Superior Agate Haven offers a large open concept living area with comfortable furnishings and a wood-burning fireplace for those cool evenings. Enjoy the crackling fire, read your favorite book, or just watch the flames dance in the fireplace. There is a 32” TV with a DVD and VCR players so you can bring your movies for everyone to enjoy. There is free Wi-Fi for our guests.
The modern kitchen has all you need to prepare your meals including a microwave, coffee maker, and a dishwasher. There is also a laundry area with a washer and dryer.
The master bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and a deck overlooking Lake Superior. The attached bath has a whirlpool tub, shower, and double sinks.
The second guest room has 4 twin beds and the third bedroom has a queen-size bed, a full size bed, and a crib. The upstairs bathroom has a tub/shower combination. Linens and towels are provided, but don’t forget your beach towels and paper products.
Superior Agate Haven offers lots of outdoor seating for enjoying this peaceful setting. There is a charcoal grill and a picnic table for your outdoor dining.
Muskallonge Lake State Park, just a short distance from Superior Agate Haven, offers a swimming beach, playground, boat launch, and fishing for pike, walleye, and panfish. The camp store nearby in Deer Park offers basic groceries, bait, and boat rentals for Muskallonge Lake.
The North Country Trail passes right by Superior Agate Haven so you can enjoy a hike along this well known trail. Bring your mountain bikes and ride the back roads or sit around your evening campfire and look at the outstanding night sky.
You might like to visit Oswald’s Bear Ranch, the Tahquamenon Logging Museum, Tahquamenon Falls, or Crisp Point Lighthouse. Only the tower remains, but this remote light is located on a wilderness shoreline where a Life Saving Station once stood. There were 5 Life Saving Stations in the late 1800s along this treacherous coastline from Whitefish Point to Grand Marais, including one located at Deer Park.
You can take CR 407/H58 from the house west for 18 miles to Grand Marais and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Visit Log Slide, Sable Falls, or hike on one of the trails. Don’t miss the old Pickle Barrel, the Agate Museum, or the Light Keeper’s Museum in the Light Keeper’s Dwelling.
